I’m happy to say that my “Shandy Sands” just took a silver in the M.A.L.T. 2012
(MontreAlers Ale & Lager Throwdown)
Shandy Sands is a ridiculous drink inspired by the Shandy (AND my unending love for Fallout)- but instead of beer mixed with “citrus-flavored soda” it is beer FERMENTED with “citrus-flavored soda”- IE sprite syrup. At about 6.6% alcohol, it is a strange, fruity sort of beverage with a pretty reasonable kick. Just the sort of thing you might use to quench your thirst on the hot desert wasteland.
